beau⋅ti⋅ful [byoo-tuh-fuhl] Show IPA adjective 1. having beauty; having qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.; delighting the senses or mind: a beautiful dress; a beautiful speech. 2. excellent of its kind: a beautiful putt on the seventh hole; The chef served us a beautiful roast of beef. 3. wonderful; very pleasing or satisfying.
You know, it's funny. A lot of people have told me that I'm beautiful in my life. My parents, my family, my brother when he wants something from me, guys, friends....etc. But I never really believed them. I always just thought that they were saying it to be nice or because they thought they had to or something like that. Guys were never really that into me because 1) I'm awkward and 2) I'm a tomboy, and when there was a boy that liked me I managed to screw it up pretty badly. But now I think I'm starting to believe them. The turning point was when my friend Clare put up a bunch of pictures of me and my friends on Facebook. The caption for one of the pictures of me read, "Beautiful, you are. Do you know that?" You wouldn't think that that would be significant, but somehow, it is. I didn't ask her if I was pretty or try to get compliments from her. She didn't have to put that caption on the picture. She could have easily put "Slide" or "Smile" or put no caption at all. But she didn't.
